# Copy, move, rename, delete

Select a row with a click. `Ctrl + A` selects every row. `Shift + F10` opens the Windows context menu for the selection.

- `Ctrl + C` copies the selection. `Ctrl + X` cuts it. `Ctrl + V` pastes into the current folder.
- `Ctrl + Shift + C` copies the selected paths.
- `F2` renames the selected file or folder.
- `Delete` moves the selection to the Recycle Bin.

New File and New Directory are in the [command palette](Command-palette.md). Each asks for a name in the list.

In the Recycle Bin, the context menu can restore a file, delete it permanently, or empty the bin. Open that folder from [Special places](Special-places.md).
